Janis randomly came across a job offer she couldn't pass up. Paid better than The Academy and was a whole lot easier (no offense, Dr. McCoy). She moved out and worked with this new company for three months before she was dropped off the payroll. Oops. Janis put all her stuff in her parent's garage and stayed with Dave until she got her own place. That never happened, her stuff slowly merged with his and now she lives with him. Some place nice in New York.

She tries working as a substitute teacher, but doesn't get called very often. The real money came from waitressing at Joe's Bar & Grill. But Dave pays the bills. Or at least most of them.

~ Since the whole Hostage Situation at Joe's, Janis has unofficially quit. She's been working at her parent's comic shop (Rocketpack Comics) and considers returning to the Gotham Girls Roller Derby league (as Stevie Kicks).

~ Janis became bonded to Captain Marvel through the nega-bands. They are psychically linked, which gives Janis access to "Val's" cosmic awareness. Janis, however, doesn't have any powers. Captain Marvel has strength, flight, and solar energy absorption & projection.
